Beschreibung

This route starts at Bad Ragaz railroad station. The route is easy, as the entire route follows the signposted SwitzerlandMobility route "474 Pizol Pardiel Bike". The route leads along a road with very little traffic, partly gravel and partly paved. First past the Freudenberg castle ruins, one of the largest castle complexes in Sarganserland, then to Schwammboden and finally up to Pardiel.

The Edelweiss panorama restaurant invites you to enjoy fine Swiss specialties on its beautiful sun terrace and a unique view of the Rhine Valley and the Rätikon, a mountain range in the Eastern Alps.

The descent can be made via the ascent route again. Alternatively, you can continue on route 474 via an easy but stony forest path to Wildboden and from there via a forest path back to the spa town of Bad Ragaz.

Geheimtipp

Take part in the E-Bike Beizen-Trophy: collect 12 stamps and receive a pleasure greeting at the end of the season.

Sicherheitshinweis

The descent from Pardiel towards Wildboden is on a forest path or on an unpaved road. If in doubt, take the ascent rather than the descent.

Ausrüstung

Normal bike equipment. Functional clothing is an advantage, as a long ascent is followed by an equally long descent.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

From Zurich or St. Gallen, you can reach the spa town of Bad Ragaz in around an hour by train.

Anreise Information

Take the Bad Ragaz exit from the highway and follow the road signs to Bad Ragaz.

Parken

You will find parking spaces at the Tamina Therme, where the Bad Ragaz e-bike station is also located. (subject to a charge)
