Parc Ela Trek stage 7: Julier La Veduta - F. digl Leget - Alp Flix

The stage starts at the Ospizio La Veduta, like the Exploratour, a geological nature trail of Parc Ela. On the descent into the water-rich Val d’Agnel, the deep grooves in the rock on which the hiking trail runs stand out. These are Roman tracks for single-axle carts. The Romans had these carved out of the rock over 2000 years ago to transport goods by cart over the Julier Pass. Sometimes on the right, sometimes on the left of the mountain stream, we slowly gain height until at point 2537 m we turn east and hike to the Fuorcla digl Leget. Ahead of us rises the Himmelstor made of weathered dolomite. At the Fuorcla digl Leget, the sky is reflected in the mountain lake of the same name, framed by the white-gray of the limestone. Over the pastures of Alp Natons, the path leads to the Kanonensattel. Already the Alp Flix plateau lies at our feet, where nature and humans have created a mosaic of habitats over the millennia for fauna and flora.
