108: Foppa - Runcahöhe

Fresh mountain air, beautiful wintry views, and delicious food in several dining options await you on this winter hiking trail on the sunny side of Flims. As the snow crunches under your shoes, panoramic sections and idyllic mountain forests alternate.

After a leisurely ride with the cable car to Foppa, this winter hike initially leads about 20 minutes uphill. From the Maiensäss settlement Salein, the highest point is already reached. Now it goes down through the forest to the plain above the Flem stream, and soon you stand in front of the mountain restaurant Runcahöhe, where the well-deserved stop awaits.

At some point, you should tear yourself away from the magical light in the late afternoon. For the descent back to Flims via winter hiking trail No. 3, plan about another hour.

Stop at the Runcahöhe restaurant and treat yourself to the fine delicacies.

You take the cable car from Flims to the Foppa mountain station, where you begin your hike. Your path first leads gently uphill through a quiet mountain forest. At signpost 122, turn left. Sometimes over snow-covered mountain meadows, where you can look far into the valley, sometimes through dense forest, you then walk down to the Runcahöhe restaurant. Here, delicious treats tempt you to take a break. Afterwards, the last two kilometers downhill to Flims await you.
