Beschreibung

From Klosters, the path leads along a gravel road next to the river to the natural trail towards Monbiel. The following country road leads to an alpine settlement with a wild romantic flair. The subsequent ascent to Schlappin is full of steps, roots, and steep sections as well as mountain stream crossings. The reward is well worth it: the picturesque mountain village of Schlappin and the crystal-clear Schlappinsee invite you to dream!

After passing through the mountain village Schlappin, the vertical trail to Schlappinerjoch in Austria begins. Then follows a descent to Vergalden near Gargellen. Passing the Madrisahütte and the mountain restaurant Schafberghüsli, the real challenge in the high alpine mountains begins. The path goes over the Gargellner Alptobel and Täscher past the lakes to St. Antönier Joch. After a detour to the beautiful Gafjersee, the challenging path continues to Gafjerjoch. Then follows the technical descent to the white limestone massif of the Gafjer Platten and the ascent to the 2700m high summit.

Those who reach this point are rewarded with the unique view of the famous Rätikon group, the entire Prättigau up to Davos and further to Bernina, and many other mountain peaks in a 360-degree panorama!

Over the ridge of Saaser Calanda, the Mässplatten on Madrisa are reached, from where you can enjoy the last view of Prättigau. After reaching Madrisa Hof, the final descent to Klosters Dorf is tackled. The descent follows gravel and single trails along the fall line to Klosters Dorf before the short climb to Klosters Platz awaits.

Geheimtipp

The mountain restaurant Erika in Schlappin is an excellent place for a break.

Sicherheitshinweis

Please watch the weather development in Vergalden near Gargellen. In case of uncertainty, the alternative route via the smuggler's path directly to Gafjerjoch and then via Rätschenjoch to Madrisa is recommended.

Ausrüstung

In addition to good fitness, basic equipment (emergency blanket, mobile phone, cash (CHF/EUR), rain jacket, water bottles, etc.) is recommended.
