Alp Mora Bus: Purcs - Strudeltöpfe - Purcs

The hike to the Strudeltöpfe, a striking rock formation on Alp Mora, combines spectacular landscapes, geological features, and magnificent views. The starting point is the secluded Purcs, a small seasonal alpine farmstead only accessible by shuttle bus – a true nature experience from the first moment. 

There are no catering options along the way – bring water and provisions.

If the weather is uncertain, the route should not be started – alpine conditions can change rapidly.

Respect for the protected nature is of course expected – please stay on the paths.

From the terminus at Purcs, the hiking trail gradually climbs through open alpine meadows and light Swiss pine stands. Soon the view opens over the Vorder Rhine Valley (Surselva). With increasing altitude, the landscape becomes rougher and more impressive. The Strudeltöpfe – rugged, water- and wind-shaped rock ridges – form an impressive backdrop and are worth a visit as a viewpoint with panoramic views of Rheinwaldhorn, the Signin group, and across the expanses of Alp Mora.

The route is well marked but requires sure-footedness, good fitness, and appropriate footwear. The section above Purcs is moderate – with steep passages, partly rocky terrain, and exposed spots.
