Alp Mora Bus: Purcs - Strudeltöpfe - Purcs

The hike to the Strudelköpfe, a fascinating rocky ridge on Alp Mora, offers a unique blend of geological wonder, panoramic views, and alpine solitude. The starting point is Purcs, a remote alpine hamlet that can only be reached via a seasonal shuttle – an experience that already sets the tone for this off-the-beaten-path adventure.

From the bus drop-off at Purcs, the trail ascends through open alpine pastures and sparse stone pine forests, soon offering wide views over the Surselva valley. As you climb further, the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and dramatic. The Strudelköpfe – a line of jagged, sculpted rock formations – emerge as a striking contrast against the rolling alpine terrain. They are not only a geologist’s dream but also a perfect rest spot with sweeping views toward the Rheinwaldhorn and the Signina range.
