Aussichtsweg Morteratschgletscher

This route offers a popular alternative to the pram-friendly Morteratsch Glacier path and unique views of the Bernina group. The starting point is recommended to be the Morteratsch train station accessible by the Rhaetian Railway. After about a 30-minute walk, you reach the height of the viewpoint Chünetta. A short detour to the viewpoint is worthwhile! The view reaches the fascinating Bernina massif with Bellavita, Piz Bernina, and Piz Morteratsch. Shortly after, you see the gigantic ice tongue. The descent through open forest then leads back to the famous Morteratsch Glacier path. Here, 16 stops provide information about the retreat of the largest glacier in the experience area Bernina Glaciers and about the mysterious life in its forefield.

From Morteratsch station, follow the signposted destination "Vadret da Morteratsch." On the return route, follow the signposted destination "Morteratsch," halfway turn left following the signposted destination "Chünetta." From Chünetta follow the signposted destination "Morteratsch."
