Braggio

It is the highest and sunniest village in the Calanca Valley, located on a terrace – inherited from the last glaciation – slightly uphill, five hundred meters above the valley floor. It can be reached by cable car or by a mule track from Arvigo.

The village consists of several hamlets. On a meadow, below the village, stands the church of San Bartolomeo which has been renovated with good taste.

During the winter season, the agricultural life that usually characterizes it during the summer slows down, but the life of the village continues undisturbed. The dairy products of the locality are very popular.

A suggestive starting point, and arrival, for lovers of snowshoeing, Braggio also knows how to welcome those who are looking for adequate moments of relaxation.
