Brücke Russeiner Tobel, Sumvitg

Today it is under the protection of the canton of Graubünden. The wood – 450 logs for the bridge and another 400 for the scaffolding – were supplied by the two participating municipalities of Sumvitg and Disentis. The costs for the wood and transport amounted to 18,900 francs, the construction itself cost 21,900 francs. On November 10, 1857, the bridge was inaugurated. In 1938 a new concrete bridge was built and renovated in 2012-2014. The old wooden bridge threatened to disintegrate. To preserve the bridge, the association "Pro Punt Russein" was founded. Thanks to the support of the population, the municipalities and the canton, the bridge was renovated in 1981.
