Beschreibung

The sun-kissed Walser village of Davos Monstein offers some beautiful ski tours. The Büelenhorn is one of the classics among ski touring mountains in Davos.

The approach to the Büelenhorn begins from the parking lot at the end of the village of Monstein. Initially along the alpine path through the forest to Inneralp. From there continue to Mittelalp and over the Mäschenboden up to below the summit slope of the Büelenhorn. Now begins the steep final ascent through the summit slope to the saddle between point 2,705 and the Büelenhorn. From there continue along the ridge to the summit. The impressive panorama soon makes you forget the steep climb over the summit slope and you can now look forward to a great descent.

The descent follows the ascent route to Inneralp and from there back through the forest to the parking lot in Davos Monstein.

Geheimtipp

After the route, be sure to visit the cozy Restaurant Veltlinerstübli or Ducan and try the locally brewed Monsteiner beer.

Sicherheitshinweis

Anyone who ventures off-piste acts entirely on their own responsibility and is outside the liability area of the mountain railways. The yellow-marked freeride slopes are secured but neither prepared nor controlled. They may only be ridden when open. We recommend checking the open slopes, the SLF avalanche bulletin, and the weather forecast. All liability is excluded.

This freeride route is to be understood as a general directional guide. Depending on conditions, descent routes must be assessed and adapted independently. No guarantee can be given for the accuracy, completeness, or currency of the information.

Freeriding in open terrain is at your own risk. Every freerider and tour participant is strongly advised to prepare thoroughly, plan routes carefully, and obtain current information on snow and avalanche conditions. Avalanche report and snow info: www.slf.ch

Any liability for accidents resulting from the use of the published information and route details is excluded.

In case of doubt, accompaniment by experienced mountain guides is strongly recommended: www.bergfuehrer-davosklosters.ch

Ausrüstung

We recommend the avalanche training center before departure.

At Jakobshorn near the Fuxägufer mountain station in Davos, the correct use of the avalanche transceiver (LVS) can be practiced under realistic conditions. The training area consists of a 100 x 100 m zone on moderately steep terrain and thus represents a realistic avalanche cone. Use of the training area is free of charge. You must bring your own LVS and avalanche probe.
