Cappella Prò de Leura

The chapel was externally painted by the Anglo-Swiss artist David Tremlett after restoration work was carried out, which also aimed to preserve the continuity of the original functions. It is the fourth example of contemporary artistic interventions on historic buildings in the Calanca Valley, after the Chapel of San Carlo al Sabbione, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Blood and the Rosary and the Chapel of Santa Maria Maddalena al Calvario. The works are tailor-made for each individual chapel that has participated in the RossArte project, a program that envisages the redevelopment of a place through contemporary art and architecture. David Tremlett's working designs see all the facades next to each other and are designed like a ribbon that winds around the building.
