Cavaglia Glacier Garden

Cavaglia is reachable by the Bernina railway. The location lies in a splendid glacial basin. The route starts about 400 meters south of the railway station and is always well signposted and protected: all the potholes have their descriptions with depth and diameter, in addition to being well fenced. One pothole is "interactive": with care, you can descend by a ladder to the base of the gigantic natural sculpture. Besides the giant's potholes, the Cavaglia Glacier Garden is enhanced by typical alpine vegetation, accentuated by the presence of a biotope developed after ice retreat about 10,000 years ago. Following the path, you reach a beautiful panoramic viewpoint overlooking Valposchiavo. The tour ends near the bridge over the Cavagliasco stream, where there is an imposing natural gorge. By descending a few steps on a small ladder, you magically find yourself inside it. Following the road, in a few minutes, you return to the parking lot or station.

The Glacier Garden has designed a free illustrated booklet for children aged 5 to 12, inside which the fascinating story of Grummo is told. All the informative panels in the Glacier Garden have codes that allow completing the booklet. Only by doing so will the secret of Grummo's gigantic strength be revealed.
