The chapel of St. Josef Darvella is located in Trun. The chapel is open at all times.

Beschreibung

History: Chapel was built in 1676 and consecrated on June 24, 1683 in honour of St. Joseph on the occasion of an episcopal visitation.

Description of the building

Picturesque, small, northwest-facing chapel with a slightly recessed choir closed on three sides. Barrel vault and arched windows. The date 1676 in the gable. Gabled roof with turrets under a curved dome. A timbered, open porch in front of the west front.

Wall paintings

On the choir vault, between flower tendrils, medallion-shaped panels with the Marriage of Mary, the Death of Joseph and the Coronation of Mary. On the nave vault the Last Judgement, God the Father with a choir of angels, St. Michael.Altar: made of wood, flanked by two columns with hangings and crowned by a Roman-Corinthian cornice. The altarpiece depicts the Holy Family and is a fairly faithful replica of the painting by Joh. Rudolf Sturn (1653) on the altar of the rosary in Chur Cathedral.
