Chapel ruin Sogn Benedetg, Sumvitg

In 2006, local resident Vitus Bass advocated for the preservation of the already heavily decayed ruin, with its 1000-year history, for future generations. In collaboration with the Monument Preservation of Graubünden, it was lovingly and passionately restored in 2013 by retirees from S. Benedetg and Clavadi.

In June 2016, the restored chapel ruin was re-consecrated by Abbot Vigeli Monn from the Disentis Monastery in a celebration. During this event, a depiction of the Last Judgment, "Heaven and Hell," and an informational sign were installed.

With the chapel ruin and its ancient history, a sacred building of significant cultural value has been preserved for future generations.
