The church of San Rocco and San Sebastiano, adorned with splendid colorful frescoes, is well inserted in a small square in the nucleus of Grono.
Beschreibung
Initially dedicated to San Bernardino, the church was a modest chapel supposedly built in the early fifteenth century. In 1660, it was restored and enlarged, being dedicated to Saints Bernardino da Siena and Carlo Borromeo. Subsequently, in 1690, the sacristy was added, and at the beginning of the 1800s the bell tower was erected. The nave is characterized by a barrel vault, while in the choir there is a cross vault decorated with splendid baroque stuccoes dated to 1715. The main façade of the church catches the eye with colorful frescoes depicting the Madonna del latte and the patron saints of the church.
