Beschreibung

This circular hike to Piz Mundaun combines varied paths with impressive views. From Surcuolm, it goes up forest and meadow paths to the guesthouse Bündner Rigi, the ideal place for a first break. Afterwards, the route leads via S. Carli into the Val Lumnezia, where the "Valley of Light" reveals itself in all its width. The ascent via the Fantanuglias brings you step by step closer to the summit. Once at the top, a visit to the viewing platform on Piz Mundaun is worthwhile: The 360°-panoramic view over the Surselva is the highlight of the hike. The return route can be done optionally by chairlift or on foot to Cuolm Sura and from there back to the starting point.

Geheimtipp

Thanks to the panorama panels on the summit, the mountain peaks in the Surselva and in the distance can be easily identified in good visibility. The Bündner Rigi, the Piz Mundaun summit hut, or the Cuolm Sura mountain restaurant invite you to a cozy stop.

Sicherheitshinweis

In uncertain weather conditions, the route should not be started. Weather changes are common in the mountains. If a rain front or similar develops during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Ausrüstung

Good hiking shoes with good grip, weather-appropriate clothing (rain jacket), possibly a change of clothes, first aid kit, drink, provisions, possibly hiking poles.
