Connbächli: water route via Caumasee to Conn

The six-kilometer-long Connbächli is not only one of the oldest and longest still flowing channels in all of Flims, but also certainly one of the most beautiful hiking areas in the region – especially with children. In the early Middle Ages, the small stream was used to water livestock in Conn. Today, it no longer serves that purpose, but it continues to delight hikers strolling along its shore. On this route, you get to know the brook and with it one of the probably most beautiful lakes in the region up close.

Depending on snow conditions, the Connbächli only carries water from early May.

Start in Flims Waldhaus at the parking lot by the Caumasee. You will soon spot its bright blue water, but initially stay close to the Connbächli. After about five minutes of walking, you will reach the start of the extraordinary hiking trail along its shore. Hopefully, you got a little boat (Schiffli) beforehand at the tourist information. Because now it can be wonderfully used. Your boat (and you with it) will drift through the wonderful landscape until you reach a large forest clearing. Although the Connbächli path ends there, this route continues: At a viewing platform, enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Rhine Gorge, then a well-maintained path slowly leads you back towards the starting point. You will also pass by the Caumasee, where you should definitely stop briefly once more.
