Beschreibung

The two-day hut hike starts at the bus stop Gigerwald, dam. After a short walk along the Gigerwaldsee you reach the former Walser village of Sankt Martin. The hike runs at the beginning along the river Tamina. After a while you will pass by the Sardona Alp, which has a small menu in the alp season. Continue to the Sardona Hut, which is located just below the Sardona Glacier. It serves as accommodation until you start the second stage of the hike the next day.

On the second day, unique rock formations of the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona await you. The hike leads past lake Balaton and Lake Heitel, which are ideal for a breather. The ridges and mountain peaks on your way down to Sankt Martin are ibex area. But even if you don't get to see a ibex, the hike with the mountain scenery from Ringel-, Sardona- to Gigerwaldspitz is a real eye-catcher.

Geheimtipp

With a little luck you can discover bearded vultures in the wild on the circular hike, which have been released into the wild in this area.

Ausrüstung

Sturdy and well-worn footwear and change of clothes for a possible change in the weather.
