Curaglia - Platta
A sunny winter hike between two villages in Val Medel.
Details
Beschreibung
We discover the landscape in the Val Medel on a leisurely hike, away from the Lukmanier Pass road. First, we walk a short distance to Plaun da Punt, on the Rein da Medel. Here, an old stone bridge crosses the stream, an impressive structure from the time of merchants and muleteers. We take a look into the stream bed far below us and then retrace our steps a little. Then, with the midday sun on our faces, we follow the prepared path downhill to Platta. Occasionally, we have to briefly cross the main road, but from the hamlet of Baselgia, we enjoy once again the crunchy snow under our shoes.
We had previously checked whether the guest room of the Hotel Della Posta is open, so that we can stop in the warm guest room for a coffee before the post bus takes us back to Curaglia. http://hotel-dalla-posta-platta.swissalpshotels.net
Geheimtipp
Sicherheitshinweis
You can also hike back to Curaglia on the main road. Caution, moderate traffic!
Wegbeschreibung
From Curaglia, we follow a section of the road that leads to Mutschnengia. At Fadretsch, we turn left onto a winter hiking trail that leads us to the bridge. After hiking back a little, we branch off just before the first houses of Curaglia onto the prepared winter hiking trail to Platta. This runs parallel to the pass road. Before Baselgia, we follow the pass road for about 100 meters, but shortly afterwards, we turn right again towards Baselgia. Another hiking trail then leads to Platta.
