In its workshop, the company Moving Mountains offers a glimpse into its choreographic language, which combines contemporary dance with street dance styles. Designed as one of their training sessions, the workshop begins with a collective improvisation based on the Authentic Movement method. Participants are then invited to explore key elements of street dance, such as "bounce" and "groove." To make the link between these two phases, the session ends with the learning of a short sequence from the repertoire of the new production that Moving Mountains is currently developing during its residency in Valposchiavo. Join us to discover the different facets of these dance styles and the possibilities of combining them with each other.

"Moving Mountains" is a multidisciplinary dance collective and creative studio that brings together artists from Graubünden, Bern and St. Gallen. With skills ranging from dance and music production, set design, costume design, communication and conceptual development, the six-member group is dedicated to creating unique experiences for stage, film and events, blending movement and storytelling. The collective also favours *site-specific* projects, inspired by the surrounding context: the dance short film "IN VIADI", shot in the Graubünden Alps in 2024, is an example of this; It has been screened and awarded at various national and international film festivals. Their choreographies combine styles of *street dance* – such as hip-hop, *popping* and *breaking* – with elements of contemporary dance. One of the group's fundamental goals is to promote a more regular presence of *street dance* styles on Swiss theater stages.
