Beschreibung
The route begins with a leisurely stretch from Walenstadt train station to Flums. There, the ascent to the historic Gräpplang castle ruins awaits. After a short break to enjoy the view, it continues. The path leads past the Muttenhöhe to Flumserberg Bergheim. Once there, it quickly goes downhill at high speed at Grossberg. At Gasellen, it goes uphill again into the idyllic Schilstal. The path passes lush green meadows and rustling fir trees. Then it continues over rough terrain towards Kleinberg. There you can enjoy one last descent. Feel the wind in your hair once more as you ride towards Flums. It then continues over the two villages Berschis and Tscherlach back to the starting point.

Ausrüstung
Normal bike equipment. Functional clothing is an advantage, as a long descent follows a longer ascent.
Wegbeschreibung
Ride from Walenstadt train station past the Walenstadt military training area to Flums. The ascent starts here at the Gräpplang castle ruins. Follow the mountain bike route 478 Alp Fursch Bike past the Muttenhöhe to Flumserberg Bergheim. Ride down the main road at Grossberg and turn right at the next curve (Gasellen). Follow the paved road uphill into the Schilstal and turn left at Bildbrugg. A simple single trail follows out of the Schilstal to Flumserberg Portels. You have reached Kleinberg. Follow again the mountain bike route 478 Alp Fursch Bike on the paved road back to Flums. From here continue on the Lake Route 9 heading to Walenstadt. Keep right and ride along forest and side roads via Berschis and Tscherlach back to Walenstadt.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
You can reach Walenstadt in about an hour by public transport from St. Gallen and Zurich.
Anreise Information
Walenstadt is about an hour's drive from St. Gallen and Zurich, and 45 minutes from Feldkirch. Use the Flums highway exit and follow the signs.
Parken
There is a large parking lot at the Walenstadt train station.
