For leisure bikers, Flumser Kleinberg is the ideal alternative to the "big brother". Kleinberg is quiet, authentic, alpine in character and scenically very attractive.

Beschreibung

This circular tour is perfect for e-bikers. The Flumser Kleinberg attracts cyclists with its low-traffic roads, beautiful mountain pastures and magnificent panoramic views. Thanks to the e-bike charging station at the Berghotel Schönhalden, the battery can be used properly for the considerable number of meters in altitude. The descent on an easy single trail is varied, both in terms of the surroundings and the surface. And yet the route is always easy to ride. The first highlight is the Berghotel Schönhalden with good food and wonderful views. The second highlight is the nature reserve with the beautifully embedded Chapfensee and various intact fens.

Geheimtipp

Take part in the E-Bike Beizen-Trophy: collect 12 stamps and receive a pleasure greeting at the end of the season.

Sicherheitshinweis

The ascent to the Berghotel Schönhalden is mostly on tarred roads. The descent leads over a stretch of gravel road and a short section of natural path. Unsafe e-bikers should use the ascent route as a descent.

Ausrüstung

Normal bike equipment. Functional clothing is an advantage, as a long ascent is followed by an equally long descent.

Wegbeschreibung

Ideally, you should start the ride to the Berghotel Schönhalden at the train station in Flums, where the circular tour also ends. Via Bahnhofstrasse and Marktstrasse you reach Bergstrasse, which you cross at the level of the St. Laurentius church. Here you now follow Feldstrasse, which continues as Clevelaustrasse after a few hundred meters. From here you are on the Schweiz Mobil Route 474 Chapfensee-Bike, but in the opposite direction. Now follow this route past various farms and the Maria Lourdes chapel. After a good 10 kilometers and around 770 meters in altitude, you will reach the former Sässeliwiese restaurant. Here you leave the Chapfensee-Bike route and follow the wider road uphill instead. From here, the last part of the ascent begins, covering another 300 meters in altitude over 4 kilometers. The private road, which soon becomes a gravel road, is open to bikers.

The descent route initially leads back to Sässeliwiese and then follows the Schweiz Mobil Route 474 Chapfensee-Bike (in the opposite direction). Up to "Gafröa" you are on a gravel road, which is more or less flat. From Gafröa, the path now leads past 2 streams to Plons. The route now descends towards "Gigerberge" point 1019. A short ascent of around 50 meters in altitude now leads to the Chapfensee nature reserve. The kiosk invites you to enjoy another refreshment before you circle the nature reserve on gravel roads and finally head downhill towards Mels at the eastern end of the lake. Once in Mels, the route leads along the partially beautifully renaturalized Seez back to the starting point in Flums.
