Exploratour 11: Im Innern erstarrt

The large boulders are gabbros. According to measurements by geologists, they were formed from magma 161 million years ago. However, this magma never made it all the way to the surface and slowly cooled down in the ocean crust. Large mineral crystals were formed, which give the gabbro its flattened appearance. The coloring also makes it attractive as a gemstone.
