Adjiri Odametey grew up in the Ghanaian capital Accra, where people of different ethnicities have always cultivated their musical traditions. Through his foreign tours as a teenager, he became acquainted with a wide variety of styles that influenced him. Adjiri Odametey was a member of bands such as the Pan African Orchestra and recorded their debut album "Opus 1" in Peter Gabriel's legendary Real World Studio.

With his "African World Music" Odametey created his own individual style - always aware of his West African roots.
