The life story of Richie Ros is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the healing power of music. Growing up in a government-run orphanage in Limerick, Ireland, Richie remembers how confused he was as to why his life had turned out the way it did.

On his 11th birthday, his long-awaited wish finally came true: a teacher gave him a guitar and taught him his first song – "Johnny B. Goode". To cope with the emotional ups and downs, Richie began writing and playing his own songs. In this way, he created an inner world in which he could express his feelings through music.

Despite the traumatic experiences of his early years, Richie refused to let his past dictate his life. He had no control over the events in his life, but there was one thing he could control—his attitude.

Fate brought him together with David Odlum, the Grammy-winning producer and former member of The Frames. After hearing Richie's demo, Odlum was thrilled and agreed to produce his debut album "Odyssey" at Black Box Studios in France. Fittingly, the album is called "Odyssey" – the journey of a boy who, against all odds, worked to create his own fairy tale. The music in his soul had finally "liberated" him, as he says himself.
