The Outdoor Fitness Trails in the Heidiland vacation region comprise over 30 uniformly signposted running trails from a total of 10 stations, forming one of the largest outdoor fitness parks in the Alps. The Fläsch Trail is one of four running trails around the Bad Ragaz station.
The starting point for this 10.6 km trail is the information point at the Bad Ragaz station near the Giessenpark outdoor pool (503 m above sea level). From here, follow a gravel path across the small forest to the Rhine embankment, which you follow northwards for a few hundred meters. To get to the railroad bridge, which takes you to the other side of the Rhine, the trail runs for a few meters on a tarred road through an inhabited area. Once you have crossed the Rhine, the trail continues on a paved road to the Mühle restaurant, which is idyllically situated between the Rhine and meadows. From there, the route follows an agricultural road along the edge of the forest to the middle of the idyllic village of Fläsch (528), with its numerous vineyards and winding alleyways. After the short ascent through the village up to the vineyards, the trail leads along agricultural paths, partly through the middle of the vines and with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and villages, all the way to Maienfeld. In Maienfeld itself, the trail leads along partly paved roads past historic buildings such as Salenegg Castle (540), the picturesque village square and numerous wineries to the main road (504). From there, the route follows the sidewalk along the main road back to the Rhine. As soon as you have crossed it, the trail turns right onto the embankment and from there along the footpath back to the info point at Giessenpark.
