Fornohütte - Pass da Casnil Sud – Capanna da l’Albigna

First, you descend for 45 minutes along the hut trail down Val Forno to the junction at the bridge at about 2200m. The path now ascends and leads past huge rock slabs and over greened rock bands to a terrain shoulder below the east ridge of Piz Casnil (approx. 2630m). Some sections are exposed and secured with chains. The view into the glacier hollow from here is magical!

Now you traverse a couloir and shortly reach a large scree terrace. From here, the path follows the old route: you ascend southwest through a small valley to Pass da Casnil Sud (2941m). At the pass, the view to the north face of Cima dal Cantun opens! From the pass, you climb a few meters north, then the descent begins. Over block terrain and meadows, you reach Capanna da l'Albigna (2333m).

For those who do not want to walk down, the Pranzaira cable car runs from mid-June to early October from 07:30 to 16:30.
