Gebiet Pizol

In the Pizol area are the easternmost outcrops of Glarus Verrucano and the Glarus main overthrust. It falls from over 2700 m above sea level in the area of the Pizolsattel to the north in the Wangs area under the valley level. The Pizol Glacier still exists, but it suffers greatly from the rising temperatures. Older glacier tracks such as glacier cuts and scrapes, moraine walls or gravel corridors in the Wildsee area are beautifully preserved.
