Beschreibung

From the starting point in Ilanz (698 m a.s.l.) it immediately gets going. Our route leads valley inward towards Val Lumnezia and without the chance to warm up your legs, you will find yourself directly in an ascent. After the turnoff to Luven (998 m a.s.l.) it continues upwards on an almost traffic-free, paved road – the climb is steady and relentless. After about one thousand meters of altitude gain you reach gravel and shortly thereafter the mountain inn Bündner Rigi (1607 m a.s.l.). Here, a short stop and letting your gaze drift over Ilanz and the Rhine Gorge is a must. You have now well earned the first descent of the day. Via Morissen (1336 m a.s.l.) and Vella (1243 m a.s.l.) you get deep into Val Lumnezia – in German 'Valley of Light' – in. The second ascent of the day costs you quite some energy again and after about two thousand meters of altitude gain, the air gets thin at the latest on the Alp Nova at around 2077 m a.s.l. On Mountainbike Route No. 90, you reach over a short singletrail section towards Alp Stavonas (1971 m a.s.l.) and then further to St. Martin (1344 m a.s.l.) onto the Obersaxen high plateau. Staying on Route No. 90, a challenging singletrail descent leads down to Zignau (840 m a.s.l.) at the front Rhine. From here you roll leisurely along the Rhine bike route back to Ilanz, the first town on the Rhine (698 m a.s.l.).
