Details

Beschreibung

A fascinating natural experience – but not for the faint-hearted: This is the Pinut via ferrata. First mentioned in writing in 1793, it is the oldest still existing via ferrata in all of Switzerland. It was fully renovated in 2007 and has since offered guests and locals a climbing experience of superlatives. So: pack a via ferrata set, harness, helmet, backpack, weatherproof jacket, sturdy mountain boots, as well as snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and a travel first aid kit, and off you go!

Difficulty

K 1-2. Slightly more difficult, a comfortably secured path with steps and 27 ladders, though very airy in the lowest part.

Approach

A blue signpost in Fidaz points the way to the via ferrata. A path through the forest leads up to the foot of the rock (approx. 30 minutes).

Exit

Descent via an old alpine path. In Bargis, you join the road coming up from Fidaz. The marked hiking trail leads back to Fidaz away from the road (approx. 2 hours).

Geheimtipp

Take some small change! At the top, you can help yourself in a self-catering hut with sausage, cheese, bread, and drinks. Money should be placed accordingly in the cash box.

Sicherheitshinweis

Only suitable for sure-footed, fearless of heights, and mountain-capable people.

Not suitable for children under 12 years.

Due to the low technical difficulty level, the via ferrata is also suitable for beginners. The entire route is marked blue-white, offers breathtaking panoramic views, and is in excellent condition.

Ausrüstung

Alpine equipment (mountain boots, long pants, rain protection, helmet, harness, via ferrata set, via ferrata gloves)

Snack and drinks

Wegbeschreibung

The hiking trail leads from the Fidaz parking lot through the Fidazer forest to the climbing ladder at the start of the via ferrata, directly below the Flimserstein. The via ferrata leads to Alp Flimserstein. From there, we can continue the ascent up to the summit of Cassons or descend to Bargis.

From the start, 2 ladders lead relatively steeply along the smooth wall upwards. Then about 50m traverse to the left, very exposed, behind a tower into a large hollow with an overhanging roof. Ladders follow up to under the roof. Then into a tunnel over the roof with a beautiful deep view of the climbing section below. Crossing a narrow grass ledge to the next ladders. A long, steep ascent through the actual Pinut follows. On a very good path and over a wooden bridge, you reach the second rock step. A series of ladders follows to the second grass or forest ledge. On good path traces through the trees to the third and last rock step. Over 3 exposed ladders to the exit. Then well secured and easy to the "summit register" or the end of the rock step.

From the summit register, continue upwards over alpine pastures to Alp Stafel Sut. Following the good path over point 2016 (alpine hut) to Bargis. (Restaurant/mountain house/post bus stop).
