Aussicht vom Hörnli
An impressive hike from Aroser Hörnli through the legendary Urden Valley over the Ochsenalp to Arosa. The Urdenbahn, opened in 2014 and the centerpiece of the Arosa Lenzerheide ski area connection, floats over the impressive valley. The path then boldly climbs along the steep mountainside beneath the "Weisshorn" and the distinctive "Güdaspitz". From the "Gatter" the path leads flat to the "Ochsenalp". After a short stop at the Ochsenalp hut, with a breathtaking view to the cantonal capital Chur, you continue strengthened across Prätschli back to Arosa.

Beschreibung

The hike starts comfortably with the Hörnli gondola. From the Hörnli mountain station, the scenic circular hike begins.

A winding trail leads you down from Hörnli to the crystal-clear Urdensee. The Urdensee lies at 2,249 m above sea level and shimmers turquoise blue in the sunshine, almost magical.

The hiking trail continues to the Innerurden alp. Then the Urder Alpweg leads you to the "Löser", the lowest point of the hike.

The path runs through the forest, sometimes steeper, sometimes less steep, always uphill. Once above the tree line, it winds more gently to the Ochsenalp and offers a breathtaking view of the Schanfigg valley. Then you enjoy the hike through blueberry bushes and juniper shrubs over the Scheidegg, past the idyllic Scheideggsee to Prätschli. From Prätschli, the bus goes back to the village of Arosa. Those who walk to the center go back through the forest via Prätschlistrasse to Arosa.

Geheimtipp

Enjoy the Graubünden Alpine gastronomy with rustic and traditional dishes that are freshly made daily from regional products.  Enjoy moments of peace and relaxation at the Ochsenalp mountain hut in the unique natural setting.

Sicherheitshinweis

Proper behaviour when hiking

 - Do not leave the officially marked hiking trails

- Small steps and consistent pace save strength uphill and protect joints downhill

- Never lean the upper body backward when walking downhill (risk of slipping)

- Drinking is important even without thirst, as the feeling of thirst lags behind the body's fluid needs

- No risk-taking in case of sudden bad weather, illness (weakness) or other difficulties
