Beschreibung

You will be surprised at how quickly you transition from Ilanz into the peaceful mountain world. The only somewhat challenging section is the short, steep stretch at Crap da Sevgein. Otherwise, you’ll be walking along easy dirt roads or hiking paths, enjoying the fantastic views and nature.

The tour starts in Ilanz, the first town on the Rhine. You will hike over the Glenner and through the idyllic village of Sevgein. After that, the path climbs relatively steeply to Crap da Sevgein. The tough ascent is rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of the Surselva. Next, continue to the small but charming village of Riein. Then, descend back to Sevgein. Finally, the route follows the Glenner river back to Ilanz.

Geheimtipp

A visit to the villages of Sevgein and Riein is highly recommended. From Crap da Sevgein, you can also enjoy an excellent view of the mountain world around Ilanz.

Sicherheitshinweis

The tour should not be undertaken in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rainfront or similar weather conditions develop during the hike, you should turn back in time.

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

From Chur or Disentis, take the RhB train to Ilanz, station/post office.

Anreise Information

From Disentis/Mustér:

Drive via the canton road to just before Ilanz. Then, take the bypass road into the center.

From Chur:

Take the A13 to the Reichenau exit, then follow the road through Flims towards Ilanz.

Parken

A medium-sized paid parking lot at the Ilanz train station (limited availability for long-term parking).

Additional parking is available at the marketplace in Ilanz.

Rathaus, Ilanz

The town hall, also known as Casa Cumin, was built in 1892. The old town hall, the Casa Grischa (grey house), where the Bundestag of the Three Rhaetian Leagues met, stood in roughly the same place and was demolished in 1881.
