You can expect a lot from this tour, except a lot of people. It is a varied mountain tour that begins in the idyllic mountain forest and ends at a lonely mountain lake in a barren mountain landscape. With a bit of luck, you will encounter more chamois than humans.

You start the extended hike at the Mulina post bus stop, shortly after the village of Nussaus in the Lumnezia. There is a short run-in on the gravel road until the route later joins a hiking trail. From Alp Cavel at the latest, the mountain landscape expands and the view becomes even more impressive with every metre. The higher you climb, the more barren the alpine pastures become, until finally only tough herbs and mountain flowers grow between the stones. Now a beautiful backdrop opens up, which could hardly be quieter and more lonely. At Lag Grond, the large lake - which is not so big - our tour suggestion ends.
Those who have the courage now jump into the ice-cold water. Others simply enjoy the reflection of the smooth lake surface and the well-deserved break. You might even spot a few chamois frolicking in the rocks with binoculars.
The path runs back along the same route to Alp Cavel. But now you can make a short round trip out of it and hike back to the starting point at the tree line via Stavialas.
Geheimtipp
If you want to discover more, you can extend the tour to the Fuorcla da Cavel or even to Val Sumvitg. However, the following times must be observed:
- Fuorcla da Cavel: Approx. 30 minutes additional (1 hour round trip)
- Val Sumvitg (to Runcahez stop, Alpine bus): approx. 3 hours additional
Please be sure to follow the shuttle timetable .
Do you prefer to travel by car? Since there are no suitable parking spaces in Mulina, you can start the tour in Vrin or Lumbrein, for example. From Vrin you have to expect about 1.5 hours more time, from Lumbrein about 2.5 hours
Sicherheitshinweis
In uncertain weather conditions, the tour should not be started. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a rain front or similar comes up during the hike, you should turn back in time.

There is no public parking in Mulina.
The nearest official parking lots are in Lumbrein or Vrin. The tour can also be started from the two villages with correspondingly longer hiking times.
