On the way - most of the ascent to Farcletta digl Lai Grand (2659 metres above sea level) is done - the view glides over Alperschälli-Seeli. The small, clear lake could be ingloriously dismissed as a puddle if it wasn't a magical splash of colour in the middle of the barren, stony landscape. And it's in a welcome spot, because you want to take a break here. Sitting on a stone - no, the meltwater-fed lake is too frosty for a dip - you take some tasty treats out of your rucksack. Yes, these are also part of the standard equipment. Finally, while picnicking, you enjoy the realisation that you are completely alone in the middle of the mountains. Alone? Perhaps yes. Or maybe not? Because it's quite possible that you'll come face to face with the Capricorn, the king of the Alps.
