Beschreibung

Casper Nicca takes you on his hike along the meadows and pastures of the upper Schamserberg, where he meets various people. At selected locations, you can listen to the exciting audio stories via your smartphone.

The Schamserberg with its centuries-old managed, near-natural cultural landscape is a habitat for a variety of animal and plant species. Among the richest habitats of the cultural landscape are dry meadows and pastures. The hike leads you along the magnificent diversity of the meadows and pastures on the upper Schamserberg to the observation bench.

At the start in Mathon is the exhibition «mia natira». It is the heart of the project «Meadows and Pastures on the Schamserberg». The converted mobile exhibition van is open daily. Here you will find the overview map of the upper Schamserberg which shows selected geolocated meadows and pastures as well as typical plant and animal species.

Geheimtipp

A recommended detour is also the agriculturally shaped village of Lohn with valuable village charm and dining options. Optionally, the route can be shortened by the PostBus from Lohn.

The exhibition «mia natira» in Mathon is worth a visit.

Sicherheitshinweis

In spring and autumn, cows with calves may be near the paths. Avoid the animals slowly and at a distance.

Ausrüstung

Fully charged smartphone, hiking equipment.

Wegbeschreibung

From Mathon, the hiking trail leads through a bright larch forest pasture up to the alpine pasture Mursenas. Passing a fen and the swinging grass, it goes to the mountain lake Libi. Here, the lakeside is suitable for a rest, and with some luck, field larks can be observed at the observation bench. The hike then descends to Lohn. From Lohn, it goes through the sound forest and along a larch forest pasture back to Mathon.
