Christian Wagner talks about:

Inspirations for 40 years of commitment to architecture and urban development

After studying architecture at the ETH Lausanne (diploma in 1986 with Luigi Snozzi), he worked in his own architectural office in Sargans and Zurich with Jürg Graser.

Realization of numerous buildings, many of which have been published in professional journals and books.

At the same time, he established and managed the "Construction and Design" competence area at the former HTL Chur engineering school. Initiation of a long-term series of lectures and exhibitions with internationally renowned personalities from architecture, civil engineering and art. 

From 2005 he concentrated on teaching and research in architecture and urban planning at the Chur University of Applied Sciences. The local planning of Fläsch, Felsberg, Haldenstein, Disentis, Masein and Scharans are the resulting projects with completely new, spatial planning and architectural approaches. The awarding of the Wakker Prize 2010 to the municipality of Fläsch and the first prize for the Disentis building memorandum in the "Hochparterre" competition "Stadtlandschau 2012" reflect the innovative approach. 

From 2002 to 2025 Professor of Architecture, University of Applied Sciences HTW Chur and Head of the Department of Townscape Development and Settlement Planning at IBAR, Institute for Building in the Alpine Region.

After retiring in 2025, he continued to work as a construction consultant in numerous municipalities in German-speaking Switzerland and as a juror in architectural competitions.
