The reformed church in Mathon is the youngest place of worship on the Schamserberg and is a listed building in the canton of Graubünden.

Beschreibung

The first documentary evidence of a church in Mathon dates back to 831 and the current building was erected in 1728. One bell dates back to the time of the Reformation at the beginning of the 16th century. The organ, decorated with rustic paintings and originally used in the church in Surava, was installed in 1822, making Mathon the only valley church in Schams with its own organ for more than a century. In the center of the church interior is a baptismal font, which is also used as a communion table. The pulpit is notable for its particularly ornately carved sounding board.
