Mazzarella

Mazzarella is a full-length stage program that combines songwriting and storytelling. Based on a personal family history, it poetically illuminates the omnipresent theme of migration. It begins with labour migration in southern Italy in the 19th century, goes through the two world wars in the 20th century and ends up somewhere in the crisis-ridden Congolese jungle in the 21st century. A delightful solo piece that moves and touches. Told in Swiss German, sung in four languages, accompanied by guitar and accordion.
