"Menschlichkeit im Unfassbaren"

The Elsbeth Kasser Collection comprises over a hundred watercolors and drawings created by Jewish artists during the Second World War in the French internment camp Gurs. The pictures bear witness to the inhumane conditions in the camp and the horror of everyday life. The Swiss Elsbeth Kasser provided help in this camp with great civil courage. She set an example of humanity in this horrific place. The exhibition and numerous accompanying events aim to contribute to the dialogue about anti-Semitism and discrimination then and now.
