Mid-station Murtèl – Alpetta – valley station Corvatsch, Surlej

The hiking trail begins between the mid-station Murtèl and the Alp Surlej chairlift (winter operation only). The view of the Upper Engadine lake plateau is fabulous. A mountain path leads down in small switchbacks to the first junction. The path continues left, gently descending to Margun Surlej with the Alpetta restaurant. A break is recommended: From here you can enjoy the view of the sparkling lakes and the mountain panorama for the last time, because soon the nature trail leads into the larch forest and then to Alp Surlej. Alp Surlej is managed and also offers a place to stop for refreshments. Back in the larch forest, you tackle the last section down to the valley station Surlej. The path can of course also be hiked in the opposite direction.
