Beschreibung

Most sledding runs are over in just a few minutes and you have to wait quite a while before you can rush down the slope again from the top. It’s different on the route from the Mountain Inn Heimeli to Langwies – here the sledding afternoon becomes an experience. Instead of repeating the same routes, you first hike to Heimeli. For about one and a half hours you ascend through the snowy mountain landscape. Once at the top, a little refreshment at the mountain inn is recommended before the fast downhill ride begins. Enjoy the wind in your hair, the snow bouncing in front of your feet, and the spray in your face.

Geheimtipp

For warming your fingers between the ascent and the downhill ride, a short stop at the Mountain Inn Heimeli is recommended. By the way, it is always worth a visit in summer as well!

Sicherheitshinweis

Depending on snow conditions, there may be icy sections on the trail. Adjust your speed to your ability and the conditions. Wear a helmet – and a headlamp in the dark. The sledding path is also used by pedestrians – please be considerate.

Ausrüstung

From Langwies, you can reach the start at Heimeli in one and a half hours of hiking time. Passenger transport is possible upon arrangement. You can get sleds directly at Heimeli. A fee of CHF 5.00 is charged for the return transport of the sleds.

Anfahrt

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

Take the Rhaetian Railway from Arosa or Chur to Langwies stop, then about a 20-minute walk to the Langwies depot from where the path branches off to Sapün. The Rhaetian Railway runs hourly from Chur to Arosa.

Anreise Information

From Chur you reach Langwies via the winding Schanfigg road towards Arosa.
