Beschreibung

The tour takes us to the Garmil summit. On the Fürggli we have the opportunity to cool off at the fountain or take a break at the beautiful barbecue area. Always in front of us: A picture-book panorama with a foresight over the St. Gallen Rhine Valley and the Churfirsten.

Geheimtipp

Both at the beginning and at the end of the tour, various mountain restaurants invite you to stop for a bite to eat (Alte Alp Gaffia, Furt, Graue Hörner, Alpina).

High-altitude bike route:

Wegbeschreibung

We start our tour at the mountain station Gaffia of the Pizolbahnen. After an ascent along the Garmil Trail, we reach the summit of garmil. On this section about 1/3 of the route is drivable, as the path sometimes has larger heels and steep climbs. The descent is via the Fürggli down to the ford. Once in the ford, you have the opportunity to eat in one of the mountain restaurants. Afterwards you can either take the gondola lift of the Pizolbahnen back to Wangs, or continue by bike via Maienberg and Valeis, to Vilters.

Anfahrt

Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel

Take the train to Sargans, then take the post bus to the Wangs bus stop, Pizolbahn directly at the valley station in Wangs. From there take the gondola lift to Gaffia.

Anreise Information

Sargans motorway exit, then follow the signs to the valley station of the Pizolbahnen in Wangs.

Parken

Public parking is available at the Bad Ragaz valley station (subject to charges).
