Beschreibung
This is the technically "easiest" stage of Route 444. It initially runs steadily on the right side of the Inn, ascending and descending several times to Zernez and further on to Susch and Lavin. After crossing the Inn at Ardez, follows the long but even and pleasantly steep ascent to Guarda at 1653 m above sea level. Schellen-Urslis’ home is sun-drenched on a terrace and invites to linger. From there, the road runs flat to Bos-cha, followed by a short descent towards Ardez. Ardez is bypassed on higher ground before the final climb over the ruins of Chanoua, past the valley entrance to Val Tasna, to Ftan is tackled. Along the way, you regularly enjoy the wide view over Tarasp and Scuol onto the Lower Engadin Dolomites. The final descent from Ftan to Scuol is somewhat steep at times and requires a bit of caution.
