Natur verbindet – Im Einsatz für die Naturvielfalt in Sagogn

Immerse yourself in Graubünden's natural diversity and help preserve the cultural landscape in Sagogn! Together with Fadri Beeli and his rare Graubünden Oberland sheep, we take care of nature and create valuable habitats for countless animal species - an unforgettable day on the sunny slopes of Sagogn full of commitment, exchange and regional delicacies. Fadri Beeli has 50 Graubünden Oberland sheep, a ProSpecieRara breed. These sheep are light-footed, tough and extremely adaptable (pro specie rara). Fadri and his sheep create sparse forests on the southern slopes of Sagogn with a variety of structures such as hedgerows, piles of stones and branches, herb fringes, stepped forest edges and deadwood - and we support him in this. Insects, small animals, reptiles and birds benefit from this.

There are many ways for you and your friends and family to help with this mission: You can take care of the various hedge plants that occur naturally here, create piles of branches and stones, remove bushes from ingrown pastures, build a weasel castle, etc. There is something for everyone.

You will get a unique insight into a small farm in Graubünden, learn something about the Graubünden Oberland sheep and their skills and enjoy delicious, regional delicacies - all this in a convivial atmosphere. Are you in?

"Nature connects" is a participatory project with which the WWF promotes biodiversity in our cultural landscape. For nature, for agriculture, for society: Farmers work hand in hand with WWF volunteers: they plant hedges and orchards together, maintain meadows and pastures, install nesting boxes and fight neophytes.


Program
We meet at the bus stop 'Sagogn, Carnetg', directly at the place of work. Welcome by Fadri Beeli and Nicole Ackermann. Ascent to the scene. Fadri and Nicole explain the process, the handling of the tools and the measures. When the weather is nice, we enjoy our well-deserved lunch together in the sun at a nearby playground with a barbecue area. Freshly strengthened, it's back to work. After the work is completed, we take a walk through the idyllic village to Fadri's farm. There we get an insight into his small business. We get to know his sheep and the first newborn lambs. Before we start our journey home, we enjoy a snack together and let the day come to an end.

Good shoes, surefootedness (we are on steep terrain).

Catering
Catering will be provided. Please indicate vegan / vegetarian when registering. Please bring enough of your own drinks.

Takeaway/Equipment
Work clothes (recommended: long sleeves, long trousers), good footwear (sturdy mountain boots above ankle height with a good profile), sun or rain protection, sufficient drinks if available: work gloves (tools are provided), personal medication.

Implementation
If the event cannot be held, you will be informed by email the day before at the latest. The operation also takes place in unfavorable weather.
