Beschreibung

From the Kartitscha mountain station, the panoramic trail leads over the terrace of Obersaxen eastward towards Piz Mundaun. The route offers breathtaking views of the mountain scenery of Brigels as well as the peaks of the Obersaxen Mundaun ski area. In Untermatt there is the possibility to visit Leo's snack bar. Via Gischniga you then reach the mountain inn Cuolm Sura, directly next to the children's area. Over a short descent you would reach Surcuolm. However, we recommend continuing the walk at this altitude to not miss the magnificent view over the Ilanz plain and the Rhine Gorge. The path now leads further to the historic mountain restaurant Bündner Rigi. Past the chapel Sogn Carli, you enter the valley of light – the Val Lumnezia. Return journey from Morissen or Vella via Ilanz by post bus.

Geheimtipp

You can reach Kartitscha by chairlift from Meierhof. Alternatively, from Misanenga winter hiking trail no. 2 up to Untermatt, or no. 3 to Gischniga.

Sicherheitshinweis

The route should not be started in uncertain weather conditions. Weather changes in the mountains are frequent. If a bad weather front or similar draws during the hike, you should turn back in time.
