Parc Ela Trek Etappe 7: Julier La Veduta - F. digl Leget - Alp Flix

The stage starts at the Ospizio La Veduta, as well as the Exploratour, a geological nature trail of the Parc Ela. On the descent into the water-rich Val d'Agnel, you will notice the deep furrows in the rock on which the trail runs. These are Roman tracks for single-axle carts. The Romans had them hewn out of the rock over 2000 years ago to transport goods by cart over the Julier Pass. Sometimes to the right, sometimes to the left of the mountain stream we slowly gain altitude until we turn east at point 2537 m and hike to Fuorcla digl Leget. In front of us rises the Gate of Heaven made of weathered dolomite. At the Fuorcla digl Leget, the sky is reflected in the mountain lake of the same name, framed by the white-grey limestone. The path leads over the pastures of the Alp Natons to the Kanonensattel. The Alp Flix plateau is already at our feet, where nature and man have created a mosaic of habitats for fauna and flora over the millennia.
