Beschreibung

Over Plang Faller we hike to the chapel "Maria Heimsuchung", which has invited people to pause for nearly 400 years. In the hamlet of Tgà, a former Walser settlement, log buildings stand next to masonry houses. We follow the hiking trail over the bridge of the Ragn da Faller. Down the valley, a path leads through the Val Faller nature forest reserve, with a large larch population. But we turn upwards into the water-rich Val Bercla. At the foot of Piz Platta, the path rises to the Fallerfurgga (2837m). Rock blocks of all sizes shape the landscape here and provide protection from the weather for humans and cattle. Through a rough, incredibly colorful rocky world we descend to the Flüesee lakes, from where the view sweeps south to the border mountains between Avers and Bergell. From Stallerberg, a historic crossing from Avers to Bivio, the trek leads to the Walser settlement of Juf, at 2125 m Europe's highest permanent settlement.
