Hiking break high above the Oberalpstrasse
Beschreibung
Where the railway line of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway used to run around the outside of Piz Calmot, a leisurely hiking trail has been created. Along the way there is a massive picnic table where you can sit down just to rest and enjoy the view, or to have an extensive picnic. A fire can also be made in a stone circle right next to the table, but you have to bring your own wood.
When leaving the square, make sure that the fire has burned down. It has no stream or fountain nearby. There are also no shady places.
The site can be reached on foot from the Oberalp Pass in about 30 minutes
