Piz Maler

We registered our route the evening before at the tourist office and arrive early at the valley station of the nostalgic Tgom cable car. This way we comfortably overcome the first 600 meters of elevation and enjoy the deep view over the entire valley. The ascent from the mountain station over the broad ridge and over Piz Nual is a treat. After the Carvers dil Tgom we decide whether to handle the small descent of about 100 meters of elevation with or without skins. From a hollow it goes off here in leisurely switchbacks through hilly terrain to the ski depot. The ridge to the summit is airy and exposed. At the summit cross, a 360-degree panorama of the highest quality awaits us!

The descent leads over the north-facing slope down to Selva, towards the Rhine. In the lower part, we have to look for the best way a little through the alder bushes. For the ascent back to the Tschamut railway station, calculate about half an hour. The train brings us back to Sedrun.

Variant for the ascent: From Selva in a direct line over Stavel da Mut to the summit.

Variant for the descent: From Carvers dil Tgom to Alp Nual and then to Rueras.
