Beschreibung
4 km east of Sargans, near the Vita-Parcours, is an idyllic spot. Enjoy a walk in the Rheinau recreational area in Sargans / Mels, popular with locals. The walk leads us through the forest and along the Rhine dam. We enjoy views of the Ellhorn, Gonzen, and the Pizol area.
Geheimtipp
Along the path, there are several information boards about the Alpine Rhine Trail with interesting facts about the "Ri-Wald" and the creatures living by the Rhine.
Ausrüstung
The route is easily manageable in light trekking shoes.
Wegbeschreibung
By car, the start of the small circular route can be reached in about 5 to 10 minutes from the center of Sargans. Parking is available directly at the Vitaparcours Mels-Sargans parking lots and next to a cozy fire pit. The path leads through the floodplain forest to the Rhine dam and then along the forest edge with a magnificent view of the Rhine and the Pizol area. At the beginning, a short section of the path runs near the motorway - but it quickly becomes quieter.
