Welcome to the source of the Rhine!

Life is a journey, they say. If that is true, you should take a break from time to time on this journey – and linger in the Rheinwald. After all, here you are at the source of life. Here rises the Hinterrhein, one of the most important headstreams of the Rhine, which connects millions of people over more than 1200 kilometers.

The secrets of the Rhine can be experienced on the 4.5-kilometer-long Rhine Source Trail between Hinterrhein and Nufenen. And you can easily discover the picturesque villages of Hinterrhein, Nufenen, Medels, Splügen and Sufers. At selected fountains there is information about the villages.
